First Roots - Underground Music Platform

A direct-to-fan music platform for Independent and Underground Musicians to help them grow their audiences organically using innovative geo-mapping and social media tools.

How it Works

Artists Upload their tacks and set how they would like fans to receive Downloads.

Fans Pay or Share to Download an Artists music.

£

OR

Pay to Download Options:

Fixed Pricing - An artist can set a fixed price for their track to be Downloaded.

Name Your Own Price - Fans can Name their own price to Download a track.

Inspired by the release of Radiohead's In Rainbow's, this method highlighted the fact that music is subjective and valued differently, as well as a fan's circumstances. Pay what you think it's worth or what you can afford to. Support music you love in a way that suits you.

All transactions are made safely within a few clicks from Paypal.

Share to Download Options:

Share Via Facebook Messenger - Share directly to friends that you feel would resonate most with the music. Nothing beats personal recommendations for finding new music.

This is completely unique to First Roots and highlights our brand and aim to encourage organic growth of audiences that care.

Share Via Twitter - A Fan can Tweet a track to their followers. It may not be personal but could lead to a large number of people seeing the track.

First Roots - Viral Sharing

Witness Music going Viral with Geo-Mapping:

Artists can visualise where and how their music is being heard.

When a fan shares via Facebook or Twitter we can see where they're listening or where they would like to see the artist play.

Fans can witness how influential they are as they can view how many people opened the track they shared and see how many people shared the track beyond their initial share.

Artists can also see who their most influencial fans are and reward them for reaching new listeners. As fans can see how many new listeners they're creating they're encouraged to spread the artists music further.

Collectives & Labels

There's power in numbers.

Create or Join a Collective or Label to cross-promote your music with fellow artists.

Our model let's artists cross-promote each others music by letting fans see who they are supporting and collaborating with.

Collectives are displayed on an artists page and after a fan downloads their track.

Tastemakers

Tastemaker accounts are created when a fan discovers and shares an artists track.

They can view which artists they're supporting and view how many listeners they've created whilst seeing where the music's being heard.

We've wanted to create a platform that not just supports the growth of Independent Artists, but one that keeps fans coming back knowing that they're making a difference.

Our Mission

To empower artists with all the tools they need to connect directly with fans whilst growing their audience.

We want people to be proud of owning their music collection, to treasure it and support the creators that produce it.

Encourage fans to find the balance between streaming and owning music by giving them the opportunity to be part of an artists journey and nurture their growth.

Anything else?

It's been built Mobile-First People watching buskers in a busy street could find the artist and support them in seconds. Artists can upload tracks from their mobile and set how they'd like them to be released in minutes.

Artists keep 100% of revenue - Unlike other direct- to-fan services First Roots is letting artists pay what they want to use it.

Artists Pay what they want for the Service - You choose how much you'd like to pay for our service each month or help us grow by sharing first roots to your friends and fellow artists by Facebook or Twitter.

We're offering artists the same payment options that they can offer fans.

Spread the word, tell a friend.

Why has this been made? What's the problem?

1) Artists don't have enough power or options to release their music directly to fans.

2) Artists aren't utilising the power of their collectives to the fullest.

3) There's no opportunity for fans to feel truly engaged with supporting Independent Artists.

We would love your Feedback

If we've reached out to you or not we'd love to get your thoughts below.

1) Is there still a place for platforms like First Roots?

2) Do people still want to Own Music?

3) How else could this technology and platform be used?

Thanks! Message sent.

Thank you.
